From Guernica 2 Garza | mewe
mewe responds to the continuity of genocides which have been ceaseless throughout world history From Guernica to Garza. Linking historical events with his observations of the ominous trends in world events in 2024. Pointing towards global catastrophe, the wars raging in Gaza and the Ukraine and the increasing risk of nuclear escalation. mewe's new works explore paradoxical imagery and the Orwellian concept of 'double-speak' as a political tool of 'Big Brother' from the novel 1984. Utilising the interplay of humorous absurdities and profound truths. The humour and absurdity of mewe's 'double-images' lightens the mood as he unpacks current world events, and the systemic barriers faced by people with disability.
