The sol ProjectNomthi Mkhwebu30 Sept - 15 Oct 2022
The sol Project was launched by up-and-coming NXT Gen ART grant recipient 2021-22, Nomthi Mkhwebu.
Having grown up in the NorthernTerritory, most of Nomthi's younger days were spent exploring the beaches,
rivers, gorges, and the outback with her family and friends.
Nomthi wanted her first piece of functional art to capture those memories.
“The sol Project” is Nomthi's emerging art business and her first collaborative piece, “The sol Table”
was built under the supervision, tutelage and expertise of
Mark Graff.
This stunning single-piece exhibition features the work of local Indigenous artist,
Leigh Fowlestone.
The Sol is built tough but beautiful; elevated by rebar steel springs,
the piece is a contrast of strength and delicacy.
This exhibition has now CLOSED.
Please contact DVA Gallery for inquiries about purchasing any remaining works; we will connect you with the artist.
